About Us

Our Story

My dad started Packaging Answers in 2007. Working for manufacturers of cartons, he’d frequently sit in meetings where experts from various fields would come together and come up with packaging solutions for supermarkets. There was a carton expert, a plastic expert, a ribbon expert, and others sitting around a table. He had a lightbulb moment. He figured there had to be a better way to get the customer what they wanted. Ahead of his time, he started one of the first one-stop shop packaging companies.

In 2016, I took over the helm of the company from my dad and took it to the next level. As the industry changed, our responses had to flex, too. We made a lot of mistakes and learned many lessons from what was wrong in the packaging industry. We created our own framework and built an even better, faster, more reliable sustainable packaging machine.

Fast-forward to today, Packaging Answers has a combined 150 years of experience on our Senior Team. We’ve delivered thousands of projects for drinks and spirits, confectionery and ecommerce companies.

Meet The Team

Joe – CEO

Joe is driven to provide smart secondary packaging solutions that are entirely sustainable. He’s motivated to help drinks & spirits, confectionery and ecommerce companies avoid using plastic and meet stringent sustainability goals.

He’s most satisfied when he can help clients avoid common pitfalls in secondary packaging, and he’s built the company to function on two central promises: packaging delivered on time and on budget.

Karen – Head of Operations

Karen delivers well-planned packaging strategies to help people and businesses meet deadlines and production goals. As Head of Operations, her primary goal is to identify and deliver on clients’ needs, develop continuous improvements, and reach long-term excellence initiatives.

In her spare time, Karen is the Treasurer of a local Scout group, and her family, friends and community are of high importance. She enjoys making memories and socialising with friends on the weekend.

Leigh – Head of Design

Leigh Armstrong is an experienced packaging designer who relishes the challenge of elevating brands by providing smart, sustainable packaging that protects and displays products. He is an award-winning designer with over 30 years of experience in the packaging sector.

Leigh coaches his son’s junior football team, follows Manchester United, is an average golfer, and has a passion for music. He likes to say that if Tea drinking was an Olympic sport, he would be a gold-medal contender.

Neil – Head of Technical

Neil loves developing new and existing products using his knowledge and experience. He has spent the majority of his career in technical, gaining experience in areas such as colour and brand management, people management, process improvement, data analysis, and Lean management. Neil likes solving technical problems by first understanding the issue and then creating a repeatable process to solve the issue.

Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family (four grown children and one grandchild), dance music, his two Frenchies (Frank and Betty), and learning how to make things by watching YouTube videos.
